NES (neuroelectrostimulation)
Neuroelectrostimulation (NES) is a method that uses electrical impulses to stimulate nerve endings and muscles. The aim of NES is to improve nervous system function, reduce pain and improve the patient's motor skills. The method uses electrodes placed on the skin over the nerves or muscles. Stimulation is delivered at a set frequency and intensity of impulses to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
History of the procedure
Neuroelectrostimulation was developed in the mid-20th century, when electricity began to be used to treat various diseases of the nervous system. The first devices were rather bulky, but as technology developed they became more compact and effective. Modern devices make it possible to adjust stimulation parameters precisely for each individual patient.
